New Delhi, July 16 (NationPress) The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Crime Branch, Delhi Police, has successfully apprehended a rising gangster, Shivam alias Laddu, thwarting a potential gang war in Jahangirpuri, a locality in the capital.
The operation occurs amidst escalating tensions between rival gangs in North Delhi.
Delhi Police reported that a team led by Inspector Nitesh Kumar, including SI Soamya Kulhar and Head Constables Vikrant, Pramod, and Gulshan, acted on a tip-off indicating Shivam's intention to execute a violent act to establish supremacy.
On July 15, he was apprehended on the service road near Sadaiv Atal, where police recovered a country-made pistol along with two live cartridges from him.
A case has been filed under FIR No. 177/25 at the Crime Branch police station, applying relevant sections of the Arms Act. Shivam is familiar to law enforcement, previously linked to two criminal cases—FIR No. 564/25 at Adarsh Nagar and FIR No. 678/25 at Jahangirpuri, both tied to armed confrontations and gang confrontations.
During questioning, he admitted to being part of an ongoing conflict with a rival gang member, Aryan alias Gullu, confessing his plans to eliminate Aryan due to fears of an impending attack on himself. Police indicated that Shivam has been involved in criminal activities since his youth, with his gang engaged in a violent feud with the Narender gang, which has ties to the late Deepak ‘Patrakar’, an associate of jailed gangster Prince Wadhwa.
“In October 2024, a crossfire between these gangs resulted in Deepak’s death while Narender and an accomplice were injured. Numerous gang-related incidents have occurred between these factions. In January 2025, a close associate of Shivam, Lucky, was murdered, prompting Shivam to seek revenge,” stated DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.
Investigations continue to identify Shivam's associates and avert further violence.
