Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood on Saturday, 20 June 2026, conducted a ground inspection of examination arrangements at CM Shri School, Pandara Road, ahead of the NEET UG 2026 re-test scheduled for Sunday, 21 June. With nearly 50,000 Delhi students expected to appear, the minister reviewed facilities set up for both candidates and accompanying family members. Senior officials of the Education Department and the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate were present during the visit.

Cooling Zones and Welfare Facilities at All Centres

Acknowledging that many parents travel long distances with their children to reach examination centres, the Delhi government has set up air-conditioned cooling zones at all 97 examination centres across the city. These zones will offer seating, clean drinking water, ORS, lime water, and first-aid services, ensuring that neither students nor parents face discomfort in the prevailing heat.

Students arriving before the designated reporting time are also permitted to use these cooling zones. According to Sood, this is the first time such comprehensive heat-relief arrangements have been made in Delhi specifically for NEET candidates and their families.

Scale of Examination Infrastructure

The 97 examination centres established across Delhi comprise 69 Government Schools and 28 Kendriya Vidyalayas. Strict security arrangements have been deployed by the district administration and police at all venues. The Ministry of Education, Government of India, has coordinated the overall logistics to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination.

Chief Minister Monitoring Preparations

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is personally overseeing preparations on a continuous basis and has issued directions to all relevant departments, the minister said. Sood added that he himself is visiting multiple centres to review ground-level arrangements. The government's stated objective is to provide every candidate with a stress-free examination environment.

The 21 June examination is a re-test under the NEET UG 2026 cycle, a high-stakes medical entrance examination that determines undergraduate admissions to medical and dental colleges across India. Delhi's preparation reflects heightened sensitivity around the NEET process following controversies in previous years that drew national attention to examination integrity and student welfare.

With the re-test just hours away, officials say all logistics are in place and the focus now shifts to ensuring smooth candidate movement and a secure, comfortable environment on examination day.
