New Delhi, March 28 (NationPress) Amid chaos in the Delhi Assembly on Friday, Speaker Vijender Gupta denounced the ‘organised disruption’ of the House by members of the Opposition AAP, alleging it is part of a 'strategy' to evade crucial discussions. However, former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi asserted that they were seeking clarity on the Rs 2,500 monthly allowance for women in Delhi.

Speaker Gupta made his remarks towards the end of the Question Hour and just before a discussion on the CAG report regarding the operations of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), as nearly all AAP legislators were expelled from the session and escorted out for causing a disturbance.

“This is ‘organised disruption’ of the House and I understand their motives. They are unwilling to engage in the discussion on the CAG report,” he stated, claiming a recurring pattern of the Opposition MLAs breaching decorum and disrupting proceedings to provoke suspension.

“I will not tolerate any misconduct. If they disregard instructions, they will face suspension,” declared an irate Speaker.

Leader of the Opposition Atishi and more than a dozen AAP legislators, including Jarnail Singh, Vishesh Ravi, Som Dutt, and Virender Kadian, were removed for speaking out of turn, yelling despite the Chair's warnings, and distributing pamphlets within the House.

After their expulsion, Atishi informed reporters that the Opposition MLAs were ousted for demanding answers regarding the Rs 2,500 monthly allowance for women in Delhi.

“Delhi women have been deceived by the BJP as the Rs 2,500 has not been credited to their bank accounts. When our member inquired about the timeline for implementing the scheme, our representatives were systematically evicted from the House,” she stated.

BJP legislator Abhey Verma contended that the Opposition was creating a ruckus to dodge discussion on the central government auditor's report concerning DTC operations.

“Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will face trial and imprisonment for corruption, and the public funds squandered by the AAP government will be reclaimed,”

Manjinder Singh Sirsa criticized the immature behavior of AAP MLAs, including Atishi, claiming they have disregarded all parliamentary traditions.

“They begin laughing and clapping without reason, causing disruptions,” said Sirsa, urging the Speaker to establish a protocol to prevent such trivial disruptions in House proceedings.
