Patna, Feb 8 (NationPress) In response to the BJP's triumph in the Delhi Assembly election, Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stated on Saturday that the residents of Delhi have demonstrated their confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
The Chief Minister expressed his sentiments on the social media platform 'X', congratulating the BJP for their significant victory, stating, "Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Bharatiya Janata Party on their impressive majority in the Delhi Assembly elections."
In his remarks, Kumar praised Prime Minister Modi, adding: "The people of Delhi have shown unwavering faith in the capable leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Congratulations to our esteemed Prime Minister for this remarkable win."
After a hiatus of 27 years, the BJP has reclaimed power in Delhi, launching a vigorous campaign against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), highlighting issues like corruption and governance.
Several prominent AAP figures faced electoral defeats, including Arvind Kejriwal, who lost his seat in New Delhi, Manish Sisodia, who fell short in Jangpura, and Satyendar Jain, who also lost.
Nonetheless, outgoing Chief Minister Atishi successfully retained her Kalkaji seat after a tightly contested race. The elections, conducted on February 5, recorded a voter turnout of 60.54 percent across Delhi's 70 assembly constituencies.
Most exit polls had predicted the BJP's return to power, a forecast that was ultimately validated with a decisive mandate.
BJP state chief and Bihar Minister Dilip Jaiswal also extended his congratulations to the people of Delhi, describing the victory as a definitive endorsement of PM Modi's leadership.
"We have secured victory in Delhi, and now it's Bihar's moment. This win is more than just a political achievement—it signifies the public's trust in PM Modi's commitments. The era of AAP's arrogant leadership and mismanagement is over," stated Jaiswal.
He further criticized AAP's management of the COVID-19 crisis, alleging that Kejriwal's administration forced Purvanchali migrants out of Delhi instead of providing support during the pandemic.
"This election outcome is a testament to the faith in the NDA. The people of Delhi have thoroughly rejected dynastic and corrupt parties," he concluded.
