Patna, Feb 8 (NationPress) The Bihar faction of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated its recent victory in the Delhi Assembly elections with fireworks and the distribution of sweets on Saturday.
As it became evident that the BJP was poised to reclaim power in Delhi after a gap of 27 years, jubilant party leaders and workers started applying colors on each other’s faces.
Enthusiastic supporters flocked to the BJP state headquarters in Patna, showcasing their delight over the party’s impressive electoral achievement in Delhi.
At their office, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Health Minister Mangal Pandey joined party members in the festivities.
Waving the BJP banner, they were seen dancing with their colleagues, representing the party’s resurgence in Delhi. The gathering saw a substantial turnout, with a notable presence of women party members.
Mahila Morcha President and Rajya Sabha MP Dharmshila Gupta was actively involved in the celebrations, enhancing the excitement.
Speaking to journalists in Patna, Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary highlighted that the victory in Delhi signifies public confidence in the Central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He urged party workers to sustain this enthusiasm into Bihar’s forthcoming elections to ensure the party’s success.
Choudhary attributed the victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, asserting that the residents of Delhi have delivered a strong mandate against the unfavorable policies of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
“After 27 years, we are set to form the government in Delhi. This triumph belongs to PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah,” stated Choudhary.
He also noted that the Purvanchali voters in Delhi played a vital role in the BJP’s victory, as they were displeased with Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal's disparaging remarks about them.
“Due to the derogatory comments made by Kejriwal regarding Purvanchalis, they decided to bid him farewell in the elections,” Choudhary added.
Bihar BJP President and State Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Dilip Jaiswal congratulated the citizens and BJP workers in Delhi, deeming it a victory of Modi’s assurances over Kejriwal’s governance failures.
“We have triumphed in Delhi, and now it’s Bihar’s turn. This victory is a testament to the people’s trust in PM Narendra Modi. The era of arrogant leadership and poor governance in Delhi has concluded,” Jaiswal remarked.
He also criticized Kejriwal for neglecting Purvanchalis during the Covid-19 pandemic, pointing to the mass exodus of migrant workers from Delhi during the lockdown.
“During the Covid crisis, when citizens required governmental aid, Kejriwal forced Purvanchalis onto buses and expelled them from Delhi. Today’s mandate is a validation of faith in the NDA and a rejection of nepotistic and corrupt parties,” he asserted.
With the Bihar Assembly elections on the horizon, BJP leaders in the state perceive Delhi’s victory as a momentum booster for their campaign in Bihar.
The party is actively strategizing to transfer this wave of success to Bihar, aiming for a robust electoral performance.
