New Delhi, June 16 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, announced on Monday that the national capital will soon deploy 460 sprinkler machines, 70 mechanical road sweeping machines, 70 litter picker machines, along with water tankers and dust dump vehicles.

CM Gupta stated that over 1,000 water sprinklers will be operational across Delhi year-round (excluding the monsoon season), contributing to enhanced air quality and a healthier environment for its residents.

She mentioned that the operation of each vehicle and machine will be closely monitored from a central control room to guarantee optimal timing and efficiency.

The remarks came after a demonstration of the Water Sprinkler Machine Integrated with Anti-Smog Gun and other machines at the Secretariat.

CM Gupta expressed, “High-tech equipment for air pollution management will soon be allocated to each Assembly constituency in Delhi.”

The showcase included advanced machines such as the Electric Mechanical Road Sweeping Machine, CNG Mechanical Road Sweeping Machine, Litter Picker Machine, and Water Jetting Machine.

During the demonstration, CM Gupta was accompanied by Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and officials from the Environment Department.

According to CM Gupta, air pollution remains a significant issue in Delhi. Accumulation of dirt and dust on roads has been consistently deteriorating the air quality, which negatively impacts public health.

“To combat this issue, the Delhi government has made specific budget allocations this year for advanced machines aimed at street cleaning. The goal is to ensure continuous road cleaning and water sprinkling,” she explained.

CM Gupta confirmed that a comprehensive cleanliness and dust control strategy has already received Cabinet approval.

“This initiative will include 460 water sprinkler machines equipped with anti-smog guns, 70 mechanical road sweeping machines, 70 litter picker machines, water tankers, and dust dump vehicles. These machines will feature cutting-edge technology, including GPS, CCTV, AQI monitors, video analytics, mobile apps, and IoT sensors,” she stated.

Such machines will assist in functions like spraying, garbage unloading, and litter collection. This modern technology is expected to improve street cleaning efficiency and significantly diminish dust pollution.
