Hyderabad, March 13 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, remarked on Thursday that the process of delimitation will serve as a constraint for the southern region.

He further asserted that the Central Government is plotting against the southern states under the guise of delimitation.

Reddy mentioned that the Congress party has tentatively agreed to participate in a gathering of political factions convened by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief M.K. Stalin in Chennai on March 22, aimed at examining the implications of the proposed delimitation on the southern states.

The Chief Minister, among the seven leaders invited by CM Stalin, indicated that he would join the meeting pending approval from the Congress leadership.

During a press interaction in Delhi, after receiving a delegation of DMK representatives led by Tamil Nadu Minister T.K. Nehru, who extended the invitation for the March 22 meeting, CM Reddy expressed concerns.

He accused the Centre of conspiring against the South, stating, “Delimitation is going to be a limitation for the South. This is not delimitation; this is a limitation for the South.” He emphasized that the southern states would categorically reject this limitation.

“We contribute more in taxes than North India. We have a greater number of entrepreneurs and we are making substantial contributions to the nation,” he added.

The Congress leader alleged that the BJP aims to settle grievances with the people of South India due to their inability to establish a foothold in the region.

“The people have defeated the BJP in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and even in Karnataka. They lack representation in Andhra Pradesh. This is why they wish to settle scores,” he stated, describing this situation as a form of political vendetta.

The Chief Minister expressed his support for CM Stalin's initiative.

“He has initiated discussions and is organizing this meeting to counter these conspiracies. The Congress party has, in principle, agreed to attend this meeting. After obtaining clearance from the high command, I will certainly be there,” he concluded.
