Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Kewal Singh Dhillon on Friday, 5 June met national party President Nitin Nabin in New Delhi, pledging inclusive leadership and an aggressive organisational drive ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections scheduled for February 2027. Dhillon emphasised that the framework for a future BJP government in Punjab would draw inspiration from Maharaja Ranjit Singh's 'just' and 'pro-people governance.'

The Punjab Assembly elections are scheduled for February 2027, giving the BJP roughly 20 months to rebuild ground presence in a state where it has historically struggled to win on its own. The current state government is led by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which swept to power in 2022 with a historic majority.
