How Will the Logistics Hub Boost Industrial Growth in Dhule?

Mumbai, July 16 (NationPress) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis urged the administration to fast-track the establishment of a logistics hub aimed at fostering industrial growth in Dhule, located in North Maharashtra.

“Considering the rising population of Dhule, it is crucial to develop a logistics hub (including a dry port and a dedicated terminal for storage) to enhance civic facilities and promote industrial growth. We need to assess the feasibility from technical, financial, and logistical perspectives, and expedite the hub's development based on expert recommendations,” he stated during a meeting focused on various projects by the Dhule Municipal Corporation.

Fadnavis emphasized the necessity of providing essential services to industries in Dhule. He also called for measures to manage rainwater drainage in Devpur, Valwadi, and other low-lying areas, ensuring collaboration with the Disaster Management Department.

With an eye on the city’s growth and increasing population, he instructed relevant authorities to install pipelines, initiate solar projects with battery storage for industrial use, and allocate funds for the underground sewage system. Notably, Dhule incurs an annual electricity expenditure of approximately Rs 32 to 33 crore for water supply and street lighting. To alleviate this financial burden, solar solutions should be implemented in appropriate locations, the Chief Minister noted.

The city has expanded from 46.46 sq km to 101.08 sq km. Consequently, he recommended securing funds from the Urban Upliftment Scheme to improve basic amenities in the newly expanded areas.

Additionally, CM Fadnavis instructed that proactive steps be taken to develop a shopping center on MHADA land along Chalisgaon Road and to establish a hostel for working women in Dhule.

In another development, Sports Minister Dattatray Bharne announced that the government is optimistic about allocating around 1500 acres of land for a Mini MIDC in Indapur taluka. This topic was discussed in a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. “The western part of Indapur taluka is recognized as a significant small-scale industrial area, with local industries engaged in diverse equipment manufacturing. The demand from industrialists to establish the MIDC has been pending for four decades. Addressing this demand will provide job opportunities for the local youth,” explained Minister Bharne, who represents the Indapur Assembly.

Previously, there was a proposal to allocate 328 acres of land; however, industrialists now seek at least 1,500 acres. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar promptly agreed to consider the additional land request. Minister Bharne expressed confidence that the MIDC issue would be resolved shortly.

“This MIDC will be central to the development of Indapur taluka. It will catalyze the region's progress, creating a new identity for Indapur and providing fresh opportunities for entrepreneurs to launch industries. Furthermore, it will generate employment for the residents of Indapur taluka, ” concluded Minister Bharne.
