Tiruchi, March 9 (NationPress) The ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is set to convene its 12th State Conference today at Siruganur in Tiruchi district. This gathering is poised to be a pivotal political event, occurring at a significant moment ahead of the forthcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

The conference aims to energize party members and enhance the DMK’s campaign efforts throughout the State. Under the theme “Stalin Thodaratum, Tamil Nadu Vetri Perattum” (Let Stalin Continue, Let Tamil Nadu Triumph), it will attract numerous party executives, functionaries, and supporters from all over Tamil Nadu.

Scheduled to commence at 3 p.m., the event will feature cultural performances leading up to the main political agenda.

DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is expected to preside over the conference, arriving at the venue around 5:30 p.m. Upon his arrival, he will ceremoniously hoist the party flag on a prominent flagpole before taking the stage to address the gathered party members.

His address is anticipated to showcase the accomplishments of the DMK government and delineate the party’s strategic approach as the Assembly elections approach.

According to party sources, Stalin may unveil significant announcements during this session. Deputy Chief Minister and DMK Youth Wing Secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin will be present as the chief guest.

The conference will also feature special addresses from DMK General Secretary Durai Murugan and party treasurer T.R. Baalu. Senior DMK leader K.N. Nehru will deliver the welcome address, with participation from various members of the party’s executive committee and district leaders.

Extensive arrangements have been made to accommodate the anticipated crowd, with the venue spanning nearly two million square feet and seating available for roughly three lakh participants.

Additionally, provisions have been made for approximately seven lakh individuals to stand and observe the proceedings. Organizers have ensured amenities including drinking water, parking facilities, and other logistical supports for attendees.

The program will also include cultural performances, featuring musical acts by esteemed film composer Deva and singer Abdul Khuddus, prior to the main political segment.

In parallel, the Tiruchi district administration has enacted a ban on drone activities across the district today to ensure the Chief Minister’s visit and the large public gathering proceed smoothly.

District Collector V. Saravanan has cautioned that strict legal measures will be enforced against anyone operating drones or other unmanned aerial vehicles in defiance of this restriction.

This conference is expected to be a crucial platform for the DMK to invigorate its base and set the groundwork for the upcoming Assembly election campaign in Tamil Nadu.
