New Delhi, June 13 (NationPress) A doctor couple's aspirations for a fresh start as a family in the UK tragically transformed into a devastating reality. Their final journey together, aboard a doomed flight intended for London, ended in disaster just seconds after take-off on Thursday.
The couple from Rajasthan left behind a heartbreaking last selfie with their children.
The Air India flight 171 to London-Gatwick, carrying the doctor couple and their three young children, took off from Ahmedabad airport on Thursday morning. It was airborne for only 32 seconds before it failed to gain altitude, plummeting rapidly and erupting into flames after colliding with a building, resulting in the loss of all but one of the 242 individuals on board and numerous casualties on the ground.
As reported by NDTV, Dr. Komi Vyas, previously a hospital employee in Udaipur, had resigned her position to relocate and join her husband, Dr. Prateek Joshi, in London along with their three children. Dr. Joshi had already settled in London some time ago and had returned to Banswara in Rajasthan earlier this week to accompany his family.
"They traveled to Ahmedabad yesterday to board the flight to London. Prateek had just come here two days prior to take his wife and children with him. Numerous family members were present to bid them farewell," Dr. Joshi's cousin, Nayan, shared with NDTV.
The selfie, captured by Dr. Joshi on the ill-fated flight, captures him and his wife beaming while sitting on one side, with their young twin boys, Nakul and Pradyut (5), and their elder daughter, Miraya (8), seated across the aisle.
The enthusiasm evident on their faces was contagious as the family anticipated a new chapter in London.
Now, the last selfie remains as a poignant reminder of the beautiful yet fleeting moments they shared before being taken away by the merciless hand of fate.
