Noida, Aug 30 (NationPress) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath officially opened the Raphe mPhibr Drone Manufacturing Unit along with the Defence Equipment and Engine Test Facility in Sector-81, Noida on Saturday.

During his address, CM Yogi highlighted that the launch of such advanced facilities for drones, aircraft engines, and aerospace testing signifies a significant milestone for India’s defence sector, especially in the context of evolving global threats.

“India has been facing challenges since 1947, and Operation Sindoor has showcased the nation’s capabilities in this new era of warfare. When you have strength, the world respects you. The combination of Shastra (epics) and Sastra (weapons) ensures peace,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister referenced the bravery of Maharana Pratap and the lion as a symbol of strength and authority.

He emphasized Uttar Pradesh’s role in national defence, mentioning that there are currently nine ordnance factories operating in the state and that 12,500 acres have been designated for the Defence Corridor across Agra, Aligarh, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, and Kanpur.

Furthermore, he pointed out that a BrahMos missile unit established in Lucknow has already demonstrated its effectiveness during Operation Sindoor.

Congratulating the new facility, Yogi affirmed that the state government is dedicated to the nation's security and to fostering defence manufacturing.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described the facility as a landmark in India’s scientific and defence innovation.

“This unit is dedicated to the nation and symbolizes a revolution in defence technology. The company that started in 2017 with only 10 individuals has now expanded to over 3,600 scientists and engineers,” he stated.

He asserted that the drones produced at this facility are undetectable by defence systems in the US or China, branding it as India’s most innovative aircraft manufacturing hub. “This technology will instill fear in adversaries,” he added.

He also highlighted that Uttar Pradesh, once seen as a challenging environment for industrial investment due to law and order issues, has transformed into the preferred choice for investors under Yogi Adityanath’s leadership.

Using global examples, Singh noted that drones have become vital in contemporary warfare, as illustrated by the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Recalling the Pokhran nuclear tests of 1998, he remarked that India has consistently advanced despite facing opposition.

The Defence Minister further indicated that within just 14 months, equipment developed by this company in collaboration with DRDO has been successfully employed in Operation Sindoor—an achievement made possible through a combination of determination, science, and the bravery of India’s armed forces.
