Abu Dhabi, Dec 15 (NationPress) External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar is set to co-chair the 16th Joint Commission and 5th Strategic Dialogue in Abu Dhabi this Monday alongside Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. This follows his attendance at the Sir Bani Yas Forum in the UAE, as confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
Post this significant engagement, EAM Jaishankar will travel to Israel for bilateral discussions with his Israeli counterpart, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar.
On Sunday, EAM Jaishankar conveyed heartfelt greetings to Gideon Sa'ar and the Israeli populace in celebration of Hanukkah.
In a message shared on X, he stated, "Warmest wishes to FM Gideon Sa'ar, friends in Israel, and all those celebrating Hanukkah globally. May the Festival of Lights bring peace, hope, and joy to all. Chag Sameach!"
Gideon Sa'ar responded on X with a grateful, "Thank you, dear friend!"
Later that evening, EAM Jaishankar condemned the horrific terrorist attack on Jewish individuals celebrating the first day of Hanukkah at Bondi Beach in Australia, which tragically took innocent lives.
“I condemn, in the strongest terms, the terror attack on Hanukkah festivities at Bondi Beach, Australia. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families,” EAM Jaishankar posted on X.
Last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephone discussion with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu, during which they exchanged insights on the situation in West Asia.
In their talks, both leaders deliberated on enhancing the India-Israel Strategic Partnership and reiterated a steadfast approach to combating terrorism.
