Shillong, Feb 10 (NationPress) The Eastern Command Investiture Ceremony 2026 took place with significant military elegance at Umroi Military Station in Shillong on Tuesday, celebrating the bravery, leadership, and exceptional service of Indian Army personnel, as stated by officials.

The annual event was led by Lieutenant General Ram Chander Tiwari, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, who serves as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Eastern Command.

As per an official announcement, a total of 37 gallantry and distinguished service awards were bestowed upon officers and soldiers for their extraordinary valour, dedication to duty, and selfless service in challenging operational scenarios.
