New Delhi, Aug 7 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially announced the commencement of the Vice-Presidential Election for 2025 through a notification released on Thursday. This action is in line with the regulations stipulated in the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Elections Act, 1952. The Commission has detailed the timeline for the nomination process, scrutiny, withdrawal of candidatures, and, if necessary, polling.

The notification, dated August 7, has been published in the Gazette of India and will also be featured in the respective State Gazettes in their official languages.

The Returning Officer (RO) assigned for this election is the Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha, who has concurrently issued a Public Notice as per Rule 3 of the 1974 Election Rules.
