New Delhi, Sep 10 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday acknowledged the remarkable organization and smooth execution of the 17th Vice Presidential election, conducted at the Parliament House. They commended the collaborative efforts of officials, security personnel, and observers who ensured the process ran seamlessly.

In an official statement, the Commission highlighted that the election for the 15th Vice President of India took place as planned on September 9, 2025, in Room No. F-101, Vasudha, First Floor, Parliament House, New Delhi.

Among 781 eligible voters, a total of 767 participated in the voting, with 15 ballot papers being invalidated during the counting process.

The election's Returning Officer, the Secretary-General of the Rajya Sabha, announced the election of the NDA candidate and Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan as the new Vice President of India following the count's conclusion.

The ECI noted, "The electoral process, which commenced on August 7, 2025, with the issuance of a program notification in the Gazette, has concluded today with the certification of C.P.
