This presentation occurs just a day ahead of the highly awaited Union Budget 2025-26.

The survey will be presented in Lok Sabha at 12 p.m. and in Rajya Sabha at 2 p.m.

Prepared under the guidance of Chief Economic Advisor V. Anantha Nageswaran, the Economic Survey encompasses insights developed by the economic division of the Department of Economic Affairs within the Ministry of Finance.

This document not only elaborates on the current economic state but also forecasts the outlook for the forthcoming fiscal year. Additionally, it serves as an indicator for the potential tone and direction of the Union Budget.

The unveiling of the Economic Survey marks the commencement of the Budget Session of Parliament, which will run until April 4. A break in the session is scheduled from February 14, with activities resuming on March 10.

The theme of the Economic Survey bears significance; for 2024, the theme was economic resilience. This theme influences the proposed policies in the Union Budget.

In advance of the Union Budget presentation, President Droupadi Murmu will address a joint session of Parliament on Friday.

The Union Budget is scheduled for presentation on February 1.

President Murmu will address the joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha at 11 a.m. on Friday.

Following the President’s address, Finance Minister Sitharaman will present the Economic Survey in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

This will mark Finance Minister Sitharaman's eighth consecutive presentation of the Union Budget.

The Budget Session is scheduled from January 31 to April 4 and will occur in two phases. The first phase concludes on February 13, resuming for the second phase on March 10.
