Bhopal, May 17 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel emphasized that education transcends the mere acquisition of a degree; it is fundamentally about becoming a valuable and capable member of society.
On Friday, the Governor remarked that amidst the frantic pace of modern life, the youth are losing the essence of living joyfully. Therefore, it is crucial for them to embrace a lifestyle that harmonizes with nature.
He insisted that the knowledge acquired through education should be directed towards serving humanity.
Governor Patel articulated these views during the 12th convocation ceremony of Rajiv Gandhi Technological University (RGTU) in Bhopal.
"Students must maintain a sensitivity towards their families and society. They should express gratitude towards their parents, teachers, and community, alongside a commitment to uplift the underprivileged," Patel remarked.
In his address to the assembly of students and educators, the Governor noted that true happiness is not achieved through material possessions, but through spiritual fulfillment, assisting those in need, and performing acts of service.
He urged that education should contribute to building a social environment focused on the impact of service work rather than the mere display of it.
"Convocation day marks a pivotal moment in life, where students must contemplate their careers and future paths. The degree they obtain will usher them into a realm filled with boundless opportunities and prospects," stated Governor Patel.
"During their time on campus, students have cherished unforgettable experiences and forged lifelong friendships. They have gathered invaluable lessons and vast knowledge," he continued.
"All these experiences will prove advantageous in various circumstances in the future," he concluded.
