The Kalash Yatra, which signifies the commencement of the temple's consecration rituals, initiated from the stadium grounds and made its way to the Navagraha Shakti Peeth temple.
As reported by officials, the woman, who was actively partaking in the procession, suddenly fainted and became unconscious.
She was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. A video capturing the event shows police personnel overseeing the crowd.
Leading the yatra was senior BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra, who is also a trustee of the new temple.
In a confirmation of the incident, Mishra’s communication head, Brijesh Dwivedi, informed IANS that over 20,000 women participated in the Kalash Yatra. “An elderly woman suddenly fell during the procession. She was rushed to a hospital, but unfortunately, she couldn’t be saved,” he said.
Dwivedi further noted that comprehensive security measures have been implemented by the district administration for the 10-day religious event that commenced on Tuesday.

Prior to the event, organizers announced that Saint Badrish Ji Maharaj and his 70 disciples would conduct the rituals, while Danti Maharaj would perform special rites throughout the 10-day period, scheduled from February 10 to 20.
In addition to religious figures, various political leaders from different parties have been invited. Recently, Mishra met with Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel to extend an invitation for him to attend the consecration ceremony.
