Engineering Students from Ghaziabad Join 'Smart India Hackathon 2024'

Ghaziabad, Dec 11 (NationPress) During a video conference on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered an address for the 'Smart India Hackathon 2024' taking place nationwide, with enthusiastic participation from students of the KIET Group of Institutions in Ghaziabad.
Following PM Modi's address, students expressed their eagerness about this hackathon event, excited to showcase their innovative solutions and apply their technical expertise.
Preeti Bajaj, Director General of KIET Group of Institutions, stated, "The current generation is referred to as Gen Z. This hackathon serves as an exceptional platform to address the nation's most significant challenges through innovation. For the past eight years, Prime Minister Modi has been providing this opportunity. This hackathon is recognized as the largest platform globally for tackling everyday issues. Remarkably, students as young as 17 or 18 are already learning to address the country's pressing problems. Numerous success stories have emerged from this initiative, with 51 ministries currently participating and that number growing every year."
"It's a remarkable achievement that these young minds are getting involved," added Bajaj.
Rishabh Bhingade, a student at the Ghaziabad engineering college, remarked, "We were greatly inspired by PM Modi's address. This hackathon has motivated us to innovate for the benefit of the entire nation. Our vision is that our innovations will contribute positively to the country."
Deepika Gaikwad, another student from the institution, shared, "The Prime Minister’s speech was truly motivating. After this hackathon, we will focus on the projects assigned to us by the college. We aim to become integral to India’s growth narrative through our efforts."
Another student, Prathamesh Tiwari, added, "We are engaged in innovative projects targeting carbon dioxide. Among the various atmospheric gases, we are specifically addressing carbon dioxide, which significantly contributes to environmental pollution. We've observed the alarming increase in pollution levels in Delhi. Our team is developing a system to extract carbon dioxide from the atmosphere for beneficial reuse."
Manoj Goyal, Joint Director of KIET Group of Institutions, emphasized, "The Smart India Hackathon is the largest hackathon in the country. This platform is an excellent opportunity for the youth to present their innovative ideas. The government has put in substantial effort to facilitate this event. Over 50,000 students from across the nation are participating in this hackathon. Approximately 13 nodal centres have been established for the event, where these students will work on industry-assigned problems over three days, significantly boosting their self-confidence. It serves as a live learning platform for students nationwide."
