New Delhi, Dec 11 (NationPress) Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday inaugurated the Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024, emphasizing the initiative's potential to engage young minds in devising solutions to current challenges.

“Students are the architects of Viksit Bharat and their creativity and enthusiasm can tackle global challenges. The skills, vision, diligence, leadership, and innovation of our youth will be crucial in transforming India into a 21st-century knowledge economy and a driving force for global growth,” stated the Union Minister.

In the meantime, numerous students, sharing their insights with IANS, expressed their thoughts on this revolutionary initiative and its role in realizing Viksit Bharat 2047, as envisioned by the Prime Minister.

Many praised PM Modi’s vision for a developed India by 2047, expressing confidence in the feasibility of this dream.

“The Prime Minister is launching various schemes, and youth participation is increasing in these initiatives. We firmly believe that by 2047, India will achieve developed nation status. This is a remarkable step forward,” commented one participant in the SIH.

“Today, we are afforded a great opportunity as students from diverse states collaborate on challenges. This kind of Smart India Hackathon is vital; it will enhance our skills and boost our confidence. We will gain immensely from such programs, with visible results in the future,” added another student.

Another participant noted that they are becoming familiar with the concept of learning through practical experience rather than solely relying on theoretical education, which is proving beneficial.

Significantly, the SIH is a national initiative aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of youth-led development, aimed at providing students with a platform to address pressing issues faced by various Ministries, Departments, industries, and organizations. Launched in 2017, the SIH has gained immense popularity among young innovators, with innovative solutions emerging as successful start-ups over the past six editions.

The seventh edition of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) commenced today at 51 centers across the nation. This event will run continuously for 36 hours. As in previous editions, student teams will tackle problem statements provided by Ministries, Departments, and Industries.
