Chennai, Nov 15 (NationPress) The AIADMK and BJP vehemently criticized the DMK government on Saturday after the South Korean footwear firm Wasoong International opted to move its anticipated Rs 1,720-crore project from Tamil Nadu to Andhra Pradesh. Opposition leaders assert that this decision has led to a loss of nearly 20,000 direct jobs in the state.
AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) was quick to voice his concerns, questioning the benefits derived from Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s frequent foreign visits and investment conferences. “The Korean company, which once pledged to establish its operations in Tamil Nadu, has now redirected its project to Andhra Pradesh. Following EPS’s remarks, former Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai also criticized the DMK government for missing a significant investment opportunity. He recalled that the Industries Minister had proudly announced Wasoong’s plans to establish a large-scale footwear manufacturing facility that would create 20,000 jobs.
