New Delhi, Dec 28 (NationPress) On the occasion of the Congress's 140th Foundation Day on Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a pointed criticism of the historic party, alleging a significant absence of internal democracy and asserting that the party's very structure is crumbling.
During the flag-hoisting ceremony at Indira Bhawan, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge emphasized that the Congress embodies a vital ideology that never fades. He noted that India stands as the world's largest democracy largely due to the efforts of esteemed Congress leaders.
In response to the celebrations, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia informed reporters, "It is quite ironic that a party, which is experiencing a shaky foundation and a decaying structure, is celebrating its Foundation Day."
Bhatia took aim at Kharge's remarks made during the ceremony, stating, "Today, the Congress party’s remote-controlled president, Mallikarjun Kharge, attempted to showcase the party's contributions to the nation. However, I must remind him that the Congress's legacy includes Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The partition and its resulting chaos, the 1984 riots, the land lost to China, and the Emergency are all part of Congress's historical narrative."
The BJP spokesperson also highlighted recent statements made by senior Congress figures Digvijaya Singh and Shashi Tharoor, which he claimed contradicted the party's official stance. He accused what he termed the 'fake Gandhis' of managing the party in a tyrannical manner.
Bhatia described Kharge as completely powerless, asserting that he merely serves the fake Gandhi family, comprising Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, disregarding the nation's well-being. He referenced how both Digvijaya Singh and Shashi Tharoor acknowledged the lack of internal democracy within Congress.
Continuing his critique, Bhatia labeled Congress as the 'weakest link in a strong democracy' and urged the party to engage in serious self-reflection.
"They must reconnect with the Indian populace and promote the vision of Viksit Bharat, as envisioned and actively pursued by PM Narendra Modi. Therefore, there is no foundation remaining for a foundationless Congress party celebrating its Foundation Day," Bhatia concluded.
