Chandigarh, January 3 (NationPress) BJP Punjab President Sunil Jakhar announced on Saturday the initiation of an awareness campaign set to commence on January 7. This initiative aims to educate the public about the Viksit Bharat -- Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act of 2025, crafted with the welfare of the underprivileged in mind.
In his statement, he highlighted that the campaign will kick off in the Fazilka district. Under the stewardship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union government has embraced the mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' (together with all, development for all). This scheme aligns with this vision, focusing on aiding the economically disadvantaged.
Jakhar pointed out that the government has expanded the guaranteed employment days for the needy from 100 to 125. Additionally, the new legislation mandates accountability for instances where laborers are not provided with work.
He asserted that the rollout of this scheme is expected to tackle corruption, ensuring that the entire wage amount reaches laborers' bank accounts directly.
Jakhar claimed, "This is exactly why the AAP government and Congress are opposing this progressive initiative and disseminating misinformation about it in society."
During the campaign, the BJP plans to "uncover" the "deceptive narratives" propagated by the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress against this pro-poor initiative, aiming to enlighten laborers about the facts.
He noted that previously, there was no accountability for failing to deliver 100 days of employment to laborers. However, with the new law, accountability is established, and the rights of the poor cannot be overlooked.
Jakhar criticized the AAP government for engaging in "propaganda" against the scheme to mask its own "failures" and divert attention from pressing issues. The BJP is determined to dismantle this "web of misinformation" through a comprehensive public awareness campaign.
