New Delhi, July 18 (NationPress) In light of the recent decision by the United States to classify The Resistance Front (TRF) as a global terrorist organization, Rajesh Narwal, the father of the late Navy officer Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who tragically perished in the brutal Pahalgam terror assault, has expressed his approval of the move. He urged for more stringent international measures against such terrorist entities.
Lt. Vinay Narwal was among the 26 victims who lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack on April 22 in Jammu and Kashmir, an incident for which TRF claimed responsibility.
While addressing the media in Karnal, Rajesh Narwal emphasized that TRF has functioned as a proxy for Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), one of the most notorious terror organizations based in Pakistan.
He noted that the inception of TRF coincided with the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to mask LeT's activities and broaden its appeal through public deception.
"TRF is not a new entity. It is merely a rebranded name — a façade — for Lashkar-e-Taiba. Their objective has consistently been to attack security forces, patrol units, and innocent civilians. Although the Indian government has already classified it as a terrorist organization, this US designation lends international weight to the battle against such groups," he stated.
Rajesh Narwal acknowledged the Indian government, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, for rallying global support post the Pahalgam attack.
"They have taken this issue to a global platform with earnestness, and this US initiative is a direct outcome of that diplomatic effort," he added.
He called on other world powers to emulate the US' stance. "Merely labeling these organizations as terrorist groups is insufficient. There must be decisive actions taken. Those responsible for such heinous acts should not only face punishment but also be eradicated. Only then can we achieve global security," he remarked.
He underscored the necessity for collective international efforts to combat not only TRF but all terror organizations operating globally.
“This is merely the beginning. All such groups must be subjected to bans, sanctions, and most critically — action,” he concluded.
