On Friday, the Commission engaged in discussions with representatives from various industry and trade organizations in Indore.
The meeting, held at Export Bhawan in Pithampur industrial zone, allowed industrial representatives to voice their concerns regarding industrial growth and economic collaboration.
Participants from industrial groups proposed multiple initiatives, including the creation of an air cargo hub, skill development centers aimed at empowering women, data centers, and multimodal logistics parks.
The attendees emphasized the urgent need for increased support from the Central government for Madhya Pradesh, given its status as a tribal and forested region, and advocated for enhancements in the agriculture and healthcare sectors.
During the session, Dhar District Collector Priyank Mishra shared insights about the district's geographical and social characteristics, detailing the government's efforts towards industrial development in the area.
Prior to this meeting, the Commission conducted discussions with representatives from rural and urban bodies, as well as the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet and political figures, starting from March 5 in Bhopal.
The Commission, chaired by Arvind Pangariya and accompanied by its four members, is on a mission to evaluate the financial assistance from the Centre through the tax devolution framework.
"The Commission is mandated to collaborate with state representatives to determine financial requirements and make corresponding recommendations to the Centre for tax devolution. Currently, no decisions have been finalized, and the demands of the Madhya Pradesh government will be conveyed to the Centre," stated Pangariya following discussions with the state government in Bhopal on Thursday.
