Noida workers' protest: Fresh FIR targets Facebook, YouTube accounts over inflammatory posts
A fresh First Information Report (FIR) has been registered by Surajpur Police Station authorities in Noida against specific social media accounts accused of circulating allegedly inflammatory and misleading content linked to the violent workers' protest that erupted on 13 April 2025. The development, confirmed by officials on Wednesday, 13 May, marks the latest enforcement action in an ongoing crackdown on online content tied to the labour unrest in the region.
Accounts Named in the FIR
The case has been registered against two Facebook accounts — 'tarunai.ketarane' and 'TheCARWAN' — and the YouTube channel 'Jansatta'. The FIR was filed following a written complaint submitted by the local police outpost in-charge operating under the jurisdiction of Surajpur Police Station.
Police alleged that the named accounts had circulated videos and posts containing misleading information targeting the police administration and the state government in connection with the labour unrest and the violence that followed.
