Gadchiroli (Maharashtra), June 6 (NationPress) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also serves as the guardian minister for Gadchiroli district, declared on Friday that the district is a key focus on his development agenda. He instructed all government departments to prioritize and implement development initiatives.
"I have intentionally embraced the role of Guardian Minister here to ensure that the challenges faced by Gadchiroli come directly to my attention. I have acknowledged all the concerns raised by local representatives and will take necessary policy decisions accordingly," stated the Chief Minister.
He also led a pre-monsoon readiness review meeting in the area.
CM Fadnavis emphasized that a coordinated approach is operational at both district and state levels to avert flood risks in Gadchiroli district.
"It is crucial to maintain seamless functioning of this coordination," the CM remarked.
He instructed that potential risks from water influx from Madhya Pradesh must be taken into consideration.
He directed the Gadchiroli District Collector and collectors from neighboring districts to ensure sufficient food supplies, medical aid, and safe evacuation plans for pregnant women in villages isolated during the monsoon.
He urged that efforts be made to complete at least two out of the five phases approved under the permanent deployment plan for isolated villages this year.
CM Fadnavis mentioned that the Forest Department, Public Works Department, National Highways, and other relevant departments must collaborate on road construction in forested areas.
"There should be no limitations on routes except the Tiger Corridor. The Forest Department must adopt a people-centric approach, and any misconduct by forest officials will be met with strict action. Crucial road and bridge projects in Gadchiroli district should progress rapidly," he added.
During the review of land acquisition for the Vadsa to Gadchiroli railway, he noted delays and mandated that the acquisition process be finalized within a specified timeframe.
On this occasion, a documentary showcasing religious tourism, Shrikshetra Markanda, was unveiled by the Chief Minister. Various MoUs were signed with industries, entrepreneurs, and NGOs for the district's development in the Chief Minister's presence.
