New Delhi, April 8 (NationPress) Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed her support for the people of Iran on Wednesday, following US President Donald Trump's announcement of a 14-day ceasefire with Iran. She emphasized that hatred, anger, violence, and injustice can never triumph, while courage is always victorious.

In a post on the social media platform X, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra stated, "The Iranian populace has formed human chains around their nation’s resources, standing firm while the western powers resort to contemptible rhetoric, proclaiming the 'end of a civilization.' The global community is observing and comprehending as the facade of morality drops from the West. Hatred, anger, violence, and injustice can never emerge victorious. Courage will always prevail."

Earlier that day, Donald Trump revealed that he had consented to halt planned military actions against Iran for two weeks, contingent upon Tehran’s agreement to restore access to the Strait of Hormuz and the continuation of discussions towards a comprehensive peace agreement.

Trump remarked that this decision was made “based on talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir of Pakistan, who advocated for restraint amid rising tensions.”

“Provided the Islamic Republic of Iran agrees to the complete, immediate, and secure reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, I have decided to suspend the bombing and attacks on Iran for a two-week period,” he added, calling it part of a “double-sided ceasefire.”

In a related development, on Tuesday, Iran urged its youth to gather around significant energy facilities nationwide as a show of solidarity and national determination.

As per officials, the Ministry of Sports and Youth in Iran had previously encouraged the youth, including athletes, artists, and students, to assemble at 2 p.m. near key energy sites. This initiative was intended to signify unity during a time of increased geopolitical tensions.

According to Alireza Rahimi, Deputy of Youth Affairs, the initiative was proposed by the youth themselves. “This movement has emerged from the suggestions of the youth. University students, young artists, and youth organizations have advocated for forming a human chain around the nation’s power plants,” he explained.

He further added that the campaign, titled “Human Chain of Iran’s Youth for a Bright Future,” symbolizes unity and resolve. “We aspire that with extensive participation, this human chain will represent the youth’s dedication to safeguarding national infrastructure and forging a brighter future,” Rahimi stated.
