Bengaluru, Aug 8 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Friday urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to release the electronic voters’ list from the past decade, accompanied by video recordings. He cautioned that not complying would imply that the ECI is hiding electoral fraud and committing a crime.
While addressing a large crowd during the 'Our Vote, Our Right, Our Fight' rally against alleged election irregularities, LoP Gandhi stated that withholding this data would suggest collusion with the BJP to carry out electoral fraud.
“The Election Commission should recognize that it took six months to reveal fraud in just one Lok Sabha seat. If you do not provide the data, we are capable of uncovering irregularities in 15 to 20 Lok Sabha seats. We already possess the information. You cannot hide indefinitely. One day, you will have to confront the Opposition. Each officer and the Commission must understand this,” LoP Gandhi cautioned.
He accused, “The outcome of one Lok Sabha seat in Karnataka was stolen. This is a criminal act against the citizens of the state. The state government must initiate an investigation and take action. ECI officials who registered between 1,000 to 15,000 fraudulent voters must be held accountable. The truth regarding the Mahadevapura Assembly segment must be revealed.”
He further emphasized, “We consider the electronic data of all Indian voters as essential evidence. If anyone destroys it, that would constitute destruction of evidence — a punishable offense.”
“If the electronic data of the entire nation is made accessible, I will demonstrate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi ascended to power through fraudulent means. The entire nation needs to question why the ECI is reluctant to provide the digital records and video footage,” he stated.
“The data from Karnataka serves as evidence of a crime. It took months to gather it. There was an extensive amount of documentation. Each photograph had to be cross-referenced with thousands of others. Every name had to be verified against numerous similar entries,” LoP Gandhi explained.
LoP Gandhi claimed, “If the BJP had lost 25 seats, Narendra Modi would not be the PM today. We have already uncovered fraud in one seat. In all 25 critical seats, BJP candidates won by a margin of approximately 35,000 votes.”
He reaffirmed that the essence of the Constitution is grounded in the principle of “One Man, One Vote.”
“Every citizen of India is granted the right to vote under the Constitution. In the last election, the BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and their associates, attacked the Constitution. Constitutional institutions were undermined, and attempts were made to dismantle the Constitution,” he alleged.
“During the previous Lok Sabha elections, a significant issue emerged. In Maharashtra, after the Lok Sabha elections, the state Assembly elections took place. Our alliance won in the Lok Sabha. Yet, four months later, the BJP alliance unexpectedly won the state elections. We discovered that 1 crore voters participated in the state elections. Wherever they voted, the BJP triumphed. New voters who did not participate in the Lok Sabha elections suddenly cast votes in the state Assembly elections — and their votes were directed to the BJP. That was the moment we realized something was amiss.”
“In Karnataka, our internal surveys indicated that we would secure 15 to 17 Lok Sabha seats. According to our estimates, we should have won 17 out of 28 seats. Yet, we only secured 9,” he stated.
“That’s when we began to question whether we genuinely lost those seats. We requested soft copies of the voters’ list — the ECI denied our request. We sought video recordings — they rejected that request and even altered the rules. Thus, we began our analysis with just one Lok Sabha seat and uncovered the electoral fraud,” LoP Gandhi concluded.
