New Delhi, Jan 30 (NationPress) The Congress on Thursday honored the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on his death anniversary, referring to him as an ideology that never fades. In a statement shared on the social media platform X, the Congress emphasized that as long as there is even one individual who believes in truth and non-violence, the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi will endure.

The Congress highlighted the profound respect that scientist Albert Einstein had for Bapu, sharing a famous quote from him: "Generations to come will scarce believe that such a man as this one ever in flesh and blood walked upon this Earth."

They further stated that Bapu's principles guide us towards justice and equality.

Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge laid floral tributes at the Gandhi Memorial, Raj Ghat.

In a video posted on social media about Mahatma Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, remarked: "The British attempted to intimidate him. He remained undaunted. He was imprisoned, and even after receiving three bullets in his chest, he did not waver in fear."

"On one side stands Mahatma Gandhi, and on the other, Nathuram Godse. On one side, a courageous, modest, and straightforward man who believed in the future of India, advocated for non-violence, and sought truth. On the other side is Godse, filled with violence, anger, and unable to confront the reality of his own existence.

"The motive behind his assassination was his inability to accept his life, leading him to unleash his rage on the individual who embodied the essence of India," the LoP commented.

"Mahatma Gandhi is not merely a man; he represents the soul of India and lives on in every Indian," LoP Rahul Gandhi stated on X.

"The strength of truth, non-violence, and fearlessness can uproot even the mightiest empire—his ideals inspire the entire world. Countless tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, our Bapu, on his Martyrdom Day," his message in Hindi expressed.

Referring to Mahatma Gandhi as the nation's guiding light, Congress President Kharge noted that his concepts of 'Satya', 'Ahimsa', 'Sarvodaya', and 'Sarva Dharma' 'Sambhava' continue to illuminate our journey.

Kharge called for preserving the nation's unity in diversity and ensuring justice and equality for all, stating: "We must pledge to combat those who aim to undermine his ideals of equality and advancement for everyone."
