Jaipur, Aug 19 (NationPress) A significant scheme deceiving hopeful Agniveer candidates under the pretense of Indian Army enlistment was dismantled on Tuesday.

In a coordinated effort, the Alwar Police, Military Intelligence, and CID (Special Branch) unveiled a syndicate that was extorting substantial sums from candidates by falsely assuring recruitment, particularly focusing on individuals deemed unfit during physical or medical evaluations.

Two primary suspects have been apprehended.

District Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary mentioned that during the current Agniveer recruitment rally in Alwar (August 5 to 22), specific measures were implemented to thwart fraudulent activities.

In the midst of these initiatives, the Aravali Vihar Police Station received a complaint from a young man alleging that one Junaid Khan had solicited Rs 1 lakh from him in exchange for obtaining a medical clearance.

The accused had already collected Rs 50,000 in advance, claiming to possess strong connections with senior officials. When the individual was declared unfit during the physical test and requested a refund, Junaid refused.

Promptly acting on the complaint, a special team under the guidance of Circle Officer North City, Angad Sharma, initiated an investigation.

Following a thorough inquiry, both suspects—Junaid Khan (25), son of Dalkhan Meo, a resident of Alawada, Ramgarh PS, Alwar district, and Sunil Kumar (46), son of Jagdish, a resident of Pai, Jurhera PS, Deeg district, currently living in Hodal, Palwal district, Haryana—were taken into custody.

During questioning, Junaid disclosed that he operates an academy and PG facility in Alwar. Together with Sunil Kumar and their associates, Vishnu Fauji and Ratiram Bainsala, they deceived aspiring candidates by masquerading as army personnel or asserting influential connections.

They extracted large sums from unsuspecting youth by pledging to guarantee their selection. SP Chaudhary indicated that further disclosures are anticipated during the ongoing investigation, potentially revealing the full scope of the gang's operations.

He also issued a stern warning to candidates to avoid falling victim to such fraudulent shortcuts and to adhere strictly to official recruitment processes.

The successful operation was conducted by a joint team comprising Station Officer Rameshwar Lal, Sub-Inspector Bhagwan Singh, Constables Hawa Singh and Prithviraj.

From the Circle Officer North City’s team, Sub-Inspector Rohit (Kotwali PS), ASI Kamas Khan, Head Constable Jan Mohammad, and Constable Narendra Kumar also played essential roles.

The assistance of Military Intelligence and CID (Special Branch), District Alwar, was crucial in this operation, officials stated.
