Jaipur, Aug 5 (NationPress) In light of the Supreme Court's pointed comments regarding Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi's remarks about Chinese incursions into India, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has voiced his unwavering support for the Congress leader.
Gehlot emphasized that LoP Gandhi did not disclose any classified information; rather, all referenced details were publicly available.
In a post on X, Gehlot stated, “Rahul Gandhi has not revealed any sensitive data. Details concerning Chinese incursions and the Galwan clash, which resulted in the martyrdom of 20 Indian soldiers, are readily available online and through credible media outlets. Reports indicating that China has claimed approximately 2,000 kilometers of Indian territory are well-documented.”
“The BJP-led central government has also officially recognized the sacrifice of our soldiers during the Chinese acts of aggression. Rahul Gandhi's comments were a call to the government for necessary action,” Gehlot remarked.
“Who can be a greater patriot than Rahul Gandhi? Information on Chinese incursions is accessible online, and he did not disclose any confidential data.
“Sonam Wangchuk, a renowned social activist from Ladakh, has frequently raised alarms about Chinese incursions,” he continued.
“The central BJP government has also acknowledged the sacrifices made by our soldiers in the face of Chinese hostility. Rahul Gandhi's remarks were intended as a plea to the government to address this critical issue.”
“Given the urgency of the matter, the government should have proactively addressed this topic in Parliament to gain public confidence, yet this did not occur,” he added.
“Rahul Gandhi's grandmother and father made the ultimate sacrifices for our nation. Who surpasses them in patriotism?” Gehlot wrote.
“The highest form of patriotism is to give one’s life for the country. Rahul Gandhi's father, Rajiv Gandhi, and grandmother, Indira Gandhi, both sacrificed their lives for the betterment of India. Rahul Gandhi undertook a march of nearly 4,000 kilometers to raise the issues faced by the common people before the government. Who can possibly be a greater patriot than him?” he questioned.
