How Can Congress Strengthen Its Presence Across the Nation?

Jaipur, Aug 1 (NationPress) Senior Congress leader and former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot has emphasized the necessity to fortify the Congress party across the country.

During a media briefing in Bikaner, he noted that the Congress party has diminished in several areas of the state, particularly in Mewar, Marwar, and the Bikaner division.

Expressing concern over the Congress party's status in Rajasthan, especially in regions such as Marwar, Mewar, and Bikaner, Gehlot remarked, “Marwar and Mewar present challenges for us, as does the Bikaner division. Compared to previous times, we have undoubtedly weakened in these regions. This is evident in the recent elections—whether it’s Marwar, Mewar, or Bikaner, a significant shift has occurred,” he stated.

He voiced optimism about revitalizing the party's influence in these regions. “In Bikaner, we have esteemed leaders like Kalla Sahab. As a team, we will persist in returning to these areas—Bikaner division, Marwar, Mewar, and throughout Rajasthan. We aim to engage with the populace and help them discern the true trajectory of their lives, their children's futures, and the generations to come.”

In response to inquiries regarding the Manesar incident, the Congress leader remarked: “If I continually dwell on past incidents, how can we advance and fulfill our obligations? We must release the past and concentrate on the future. Collective progress is essential—that serves the nation’s best interests.”

While addressing party members, Gehlot underscored the necessity of unity and the Congress party's significance in today’s political scenery.

“I want to convey two messages to my supporters: Firstly, the nation requires Congress. It is our duty to strengthen the party. Set aside your internal conflicts. Only a robust Congress can save the nation and safeguard our democracy,” he reiterated. “Indeed, preserving democracy in this nation is feasible only if Congress is strong. That is our mission.”

The former CM also stressed that the future hinges on protecting the Constitution and democracy. “Both are currently under threat. Hence, I advocate for the principles of the Congress party, rooted in the Preamble of the Constitution. I encourage everyone to read it. In every address earlier on Wednesday, I asserted: display the Preamble in your homes. Let children read and comprehend it.”

Gehlot further highlighted the necessity of embedding constitutional values in the younger generation. “When children mature understanding the Preamble, they will be committed to upholding the law, ensuring justice, and supporting the rule of law. It promotes equality, social security, and the essence of democracy. Every citizen should read it and assist their children in understanding it. This is my sincere appeal to all.”
