New Delhi, May 18 (NationPress) Union Minister Giriraj Singh asserted on Sunday that the inclusion of Shashi Tharoor in the all-party delegation, which is set to travel abroad to unveil Pakistan's involvement in cross-border terrorism, is devoid of any political motives. He mentioned that the Congress party is grappling with its own internal issues.
In response to the tragic terrorist attack on April 22 in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in 26 fatalities, India has initiated Operation Sindoor. This operation has led to the formation of seven all-party delegations aimed at engaging with key international partners to highlight Pakistan’s terrorist affiliations and to rally global support.
Commenting on Tharoor's involvement, Singh remarked, “The Congress has transformed into a party that rarely advocates for the nation's interests. Instead, it indulges in negativity, whether it be tarnishing India's image abroad or other matters. If Tharoor is part of this delegation, where is the politics in it? This merely underscores the internal strife within the Congress party.”
The delegation encompasses leaders from various political parties, including Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, BJP leaders Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijayant Panda, DMK’s Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, Supriya Sule from NCP(SP), and Shrikant Eknath Shinde from Shiv Sena. They are also supported by seasoned officers from the Indian Foreign Service to maximize the impact of this diplomatic outreach.
BJP National Spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain praised the initiative, stating, “To emphasize the accomplishments of Operation Sindoor, India’s decisive actions, and its heroic legacy, seven delegations have been constituted. Each includes experienced leaders and IFS officers who will travel to different countries to showcase India’s bravery and expose 'Terroristan.' This is a commendable decision by Prime Minister Modi.”
BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh echoed the sentiment, branding the initiative a “diplomatic surgical strike” against Pakistan. He expressed, “The action taken by Prime Minister Modi to dispatch an all-party parliamentary delegation worldwide to expose Pakistan’s treacherous, corrupt, and terrorist nature is praiseworthy. This delegation aims to inform the global audience about how Pakistan has been operating as a hub for terrorism.”
Leader of Janata Dal (United), K.C. Tyagi, commended the move, labeling it a “commendable step by the Government of India” and an opportune moment to reveal “Pakistan's lies” on the global platform.
In a separate statement, Giriraj Singh addressed the increasing trend among Indian tourists to boycott nations like Turkey and Azerbaijan. He remarked, “Today, Pakistan is acknowledged globally as a terrorist nation. The valor of the Indian Army has demonstrated to the world that no one can hinder the downfall of this terrorist state. Naturally, the populace harbors resentment towards any nation supporting our adversary, Pakistan. No country, whether an enemy or an ally of an enemy, can ever serve India’s interests, be it Turkey or any other nation.”
