Chandigarh, May 16 (NationPress) On Friday, girl students achieved outstanding results in the Punjab Class 10 board examinations, boasting a remarkable pass percentage of 96.85%, surpassing their male peers who recorded a pass rate of 94.50%.
Akshnoor Kaur from Sant Mohan Das Memorial Senior Secondary School in Kot Suthiyan, Faridkot district, achieved a perfect score of 650 out of 650, securing the top position in the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) exams.
Ratinderdeep Kaur from Baba Farid Public Senior Secondary School in Chhatiana, Muktsar, Arshdeep Kaur from Ram Saroop Memorial Senior Secondary School in Chaunda, Malerkotla, and Jahsanpreet Kaur Gill from Sant Mohan Das Memorial in Kot Suthiyan, all scored 650 out of 650, earning the second, third, and fourth places respectively based on age criteria.
School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains congratulated the students for their exceptional performances in the Class X board exams.
While praising the top achievers, the minister highlighted that Akshnoor Kaur topped the state with a perfect score, followed closely by Ratinderdeep Kaur and Arshdeep Kaur, who claimed the second and third positions.

Among the districts, Amritsar (98.54%), Gurdaspur (98.22%), and Tarn Taran (98.08%) were the top performers out of 23 districts in the state. Mohali ranked 11th with a pass rate of 96.74%, while Ludhiana had the lowest at 91.62%. Notably, two out of four transgender students passed the exam. The merit list of 300 students included 256 girls (85.33%) and only 44 boys (14.66%).
