Jaipur, July 16 (NationPress) The Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale, expressed on Wednesday that the Central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is firmly dedicated to fostering justice and development for every segment of society.
During a press conference in Jaipur, the Minister emphasized that various public welfare initiatives have been designed to uplift 25 crore individuals from poverty. He noted that as a result of the Central government's economic strategies over the past decade, India has emerged as the world's fourth-largest economy.
Athawale revealed that in the Union Budget for 2025-26, the government allocated Rs 1,68,478 crore for the welfare of Scheduled Castes, reflecting a 2 percent increase or Rs 2,960 crore from the previous year. For Scheduled Tribes, Rs 1,29,249.75 crore has been earmarked, an increase of Rs 4,340.8 crore compared to last year.
Through the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, over 55.69 crore bank accounts have been established nationwide, including 3.71 crore in Rajasthan.
Additionally, under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, loans amounting to Rs 34.32 lakh crore have been disbursed to 53.85 crore beneficiaries across the country. In Rajasthan, 2.30 crore individuals have benefited from loans totaling Rs 1.81 lakh crore.
Athawale stated that under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, 10.33 crore LPG connections have been provided across the nation, with 73.81 lakh connections in Rajasthan. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, approximately 4 crore houses have been approved.
Moreover, he mentioned that more than 9.62 crore individuals have availed benefits from the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
In Rajasthan alone, over 73 lakh residents have accessed healthcare benefits through this scheme from 2018 to 2025.
Athawale reiterated the Central government's unwavering commitment to the comprehensive development of the nation, ensuring that the advantages reach every individual at the grassroots level.
