Gandhinagar, Nov 7 (NationPress) A remarkable event was held in Vadodara, Gujarat, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the national anthem "Vande Mataram".
The occasion was led by BJP Vadodara Metropolitan President Jaiprakash Soni, where numerous BJP leaders and officials joined in a collective rendition of the national anthem. The celebration also included a unique program titled "Group Singing and Speech" to honor this significant milestone.
Among the attendees were notable BJP figures, including Raopura MLA Balkrishna Shukla, the Mayor of Vadodara, and the Standing Committee Chairperson, alongside many party workers and officials.
All participants pledged to foster national spirit and support the Swadeshi movement by promoting the use of local products.
MLA Balkrishna Shukla shared with IANS, "Bankim Chandra Chatterjee penned Vande Mataram on November 7, 1875, to unite Indians during the early days of independent India. In 1896, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore performed Vande Mataram at the Calcutta Convention."
BJP Vadodara President Jaiprakash Soni emphasized that Vande Mataram pays tribute to Bharat Mata.
He stated, “The independence movement saw mass participation due to this song, which united people towards a common goal. Where else can one find a better way to honor Bharat Mata today?”
