Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 12 development projects worth a combined ₹583.85 crore in Ahmedabad on Thursday, 25 September 2026, as part of the 'Seva, Sankalp, and Samarpan Abhiyan'. The programme will also include housing draws and the distribution of appointment letters to newly recruited municipal employees.

Scope of the Event

The programme is scheduled to begin at 9:50 am at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium Hall in the Bodakdev area of Ahmedabad. It will cover the e-inauguration of six completed projects costing ₹279.80 crore, as well as the laying of foundation stones for six upcoming projects estimated at ₹304.05 crore. The event is being organised by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) as part of a campaign marking 25 years of public service and governance associated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Key Projects Being Inaugurated

Among the most significant completed works is a four-lane flyover at Vadaj Junction, built by the AMC's Bridge Project Department at an estimated cost of ₹127.92 crore. The flyover will be inaugurated separately at 9:30 am opposite Welcome Hotel near Agakhan Ni Gali. A four-lane railway overbridge over level crossing 24 on the Ahmedabad-Botad railway line in Vejalpur, constructed at ₹98.60 crore, will also be formally opened.

Other completed projects include 329 Economically Weaker Section (EWS) housing units — part of a larger 1,190-unit cluster under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) at TP-39, Final Plot No. 59, Thaltej — at a cost of ₹22.24 crore. The AMC has also procured 15 First Response Vehicles for city fire stations at ₹19.74 crore and 10 motorised boats with engines at ₹3.40 crore. Rehabilitation of 108 housing units and 46 shops at the 'Pakhaji No Kuwo' slum in Shahibaug has been completed at ₹7.90 crore.

Foundation Stones for New Projects

The six forthcoming projects span urban mobility, drainage, and tourism infrastructure. A road network for the Ramapir No Tekro L.A.P. area of Stadium Ward will be developed at ₹72.78 crore, while an existing 1,800-mm diameter drainage line from Nagarvel Hanuman Temple to Guruji Bridge in Amraiwadi will be rehabilitated at ₹65.51 crore. A new drainage pumping station and rising line at Navana in Vatva is estimated at ₹61.81 crore.

An AMTS and BRTS bus charging station and parking facility at TP-110, Nikol-Kathwada (Final Plots 95 and 96) will come up at ₹61.89 crore, and a bus depot and charging infrastructure on a 19,896 sq metre plot near S.P. Ring Road in Tragad at ₹28.08 crore. The sixth project is a Tourism Temple Circuit along the eastern bank of the Sabarmati River — connecting Saptarishi Ashram via Jagannath Temple to Atal Ghat — to be undertaken by the AMC Heritage Department at ₹13.98 crore.

Community Outreach and Cleanliness Drive

At 10:45 am, an intensive cleanliness drive will be held in Ghuma village under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign. A drawing competition for school students will follow at 11 am at M.K. Patel Anupam Primary School in Ghuma, aimed at building awareness around cleanliness and environmental responsibility. The programme will culminate in housing draws and the distribution of appointment letters to newly appointed Assistant Technical Supervisors and Junior Clerks.

With infrastructure spanning roads, drainage, fire services, housing, and riverfront tourism, Thursday's event signals a broad push by the Patel administration to accelerate Ahmedabad's civic development ahead of the next electoral cycle.
