Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel to meet industry leaders at VGGS 2027 Curtain Raiser in Delhi
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is set to hold a series of one-on-one meetings with senior representatives of leading domestic and international companies in New Delhi on Monday, 1 September, as the state intensifies its investment drive ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2027. The engagements follow Patel's recent overseas roadshow spanning the United States and Canada, and precede the official curtain raiser event on 31 August at Bharat Mandapam.
Curtain Raiser at Bharat Mandapam
The Gujarat government has organised the curtain raiser for the 11th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on 31 August. The main summit is scheduled from 10 to 12 January 2027. Chief Minister Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi will address an industry interaction in the morning session, setting the tone for the investment conversations to follow.
The evening session on 31 August at Hotel Taj Palace will bring together heads of diplomatic missions and senior Central government officials, with both Patel and Sanghavi scheduled to participate.
Companies Lined Up for One-on-One Meetings
Patel's schedule includes individual meetings with representatives from TPREL, JSW MG Motor India, Schneider Electric India, DCM Shriram, Seoul Semiconductors, Shree Cement, Purvah Green Power, LG Energy Solutions, JBM Group, Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon, Max Healthcare, Uno Minda and ACMA, ACME Solar, Schwihag AG, AirTrunk, HIF Global, GHCL, Sber Bank, PB Fintech (parent company of PolicyBazaar and Paisabazaar), and Mankind Pharma.
The discussions are expected to span a broad range of sectors including renewable energy, automobiles, semiconductors and electronics, cement, infrastructure, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, railways, artificial intelligence and data centres, IT and business process management, chemicals, and banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI). According to the state government, the focus will be on investment opportunities, expansion plans, and strategic partnerships.
US and Canada Tour Builds Momentum
Patel returned to Gujarat on 27 August after leading a high-level delegation across San Francisco, Washington DC, New York, and Toronto. The delegation engaged with investors, technology companies, entrepreneurs, and business representatives, with conversations centred on semiconductors, artificial intelligence, data centres, manufacturing, and financial services linked to GIFT City.
Speaking after his return, Patel said the visit had generated considerable interest. 'Many companies are enthusiastic about investing in Gujarat,' he said, adding, 'Very good investment will come to Gujarat.' The New Delhi curtain raiser is intended to convert that international interest into concrete commitments ahead of the January summit.
What Gujarat Is Pitching
The state is expected to highlight its industrial infrastructure and policy ecosystem as it seeks to attract capital in both emerging and established sectors. Notably, this comes at a time when several Indian states are competing aggressively for foreign and domestic investment, making the VGGS platform a critical differentiator for Gujarat's positioning. The curtain raiser is designed to build momentum and follow up on the groundwork laid during the overseas roadshow.
