Has Gujarat Increased Security After Jammu Strikes?

Ahmedabad, May 8 (NationPress) In response to prospective threats from Pakistan, Gujarat has enhanced its security protocols along its 1,600-kilometre sensitive coastline and the land border it shares with the hostile neighbour.

The state administration, security personnel, and citizens have collaborated in an extraordinary display of coordination, ensuring complete readiness to address any adverse events, an official stated.

Due to Gujarat’s strategic significance with both land and maritime boundaries adjacent to Pakistan, all security agencies have been placed on high alert. The Border Security Force (BSF), military units, and local police are actively deployed in border regions, maintaining vigilance, especially during nighttime hours. Should provocations arise from across the border, security forces are fully prepared to respond with accuracy and strength.

Owing to the vital nature of Gujarat’s extensive coastline, the Indian Coast Guard and Marine Police have escalated patrol activities to thwart any infiltration attempts via sea.

All districts in Gujarat bordering Pakistan have been directed to stay on high alert. Close coordination is maintained between district collectors, police superintendents, and other pertinent departments.

Emergency response strategies, including law enforcement, relief, rescue operations, and resource distribution, have been meticulously devised by the state’s administrative apparatus.

The state’s Home Department is continuously overseeing the situation and has bolstered security measures. The Health Department is also on standby to offer medical assistance during emergencies, with hospitals prepared with ready-to-deploy medical teams, emergency wards, and sufficient medical supplies.

Recognizing the crucial role citizens play in border security, residents in sensitive regions are being regularly briefed and encouraged to stay vigilant. They are urged to report any suspicious activities immediately to the authorities.

In a timely and proportionate reaction early this morning, the Indian Armed Forces targeted Pakistani Air Defence radars and systems at several locations. It has been reliably reported that a significant Air Defence installation in Lahore was effectively neutralized.

Officials confirmed that India’s response was appropriate in both scope and intensity concerning Pakistan’s provocations. Pakistan has increased its unprovoked ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC), ramping up mortar and heavy artillery shelling in the Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri sectors of Jammu and Kashmir. Indian forces remain on high alert and are responding decisively to these ongoing hostilities.
