The overall incentive amount to be awarded during the ceremony will surpass Rs 91 lakh.
State officials indicated that the awards aim not only to recognize individual excellence but also to motivate the adoption of best practices in animal husbandry, contributing to sustainable rural growth and improved income for livestock-dependent families throughout Gujarat.
Gujarat boasts one of the most robust livestock sectors in India, playing a vital role in the state's rural economy, with animal husbandry significantly enhancing farmers' income and livelihood security.
The state is home to a considerable population of cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats, and poultry, with dairying at the core of livestock activities.
As one of the leading milk-producing states in the nation, Gujarat benefits from a strong cooperative network fostered by village-level milk societies and dairy unions.
The sector supports millions of rural families by offering continuous income, employment opportunities for women, and nutritional security.
Government programs centered on breed improvement, animal health services, vaccinations, fodder development, and modern technology utilization have further bolstered productivity, establishing livestock as a crucial pillar of Gujarat's agricultural and rural development framework.
