Gandhinagar, May 29 (NationPress) The Gujarat government has introduced a health initiative, ‘Gujarat Karmayogi Swasthya Suraksha Yojana’, designed to offer comprehensive healthcare coverage to All India Services (AIS) officers, state government officers, employees, and pensioners.
Under this scheme, qualifying beneficiaries will benefit from cashless medical treatment of up to Rs 10 lakh per family, using a designated “G” category card issued as part of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY).
The state’s Health Department has provided comprehensive guidelines for enrollment in the scheme.
To access the benefits, all eligible individuals must hold the PMJAY “G” category card, which will be issued by the State Health Agency (SHA).
The SHA is responsible for distributing the cards and overseeing the scheme's implementation. The definition of “family” will differ according to service rules applicable to each group.
For state government employees and pensioners, this definition will adhere to the Gujarat State Services (Medical Treatment) Rules, 2015, while for AIS officers and pensioners, it will follow the AIS (Medical Attendance) Rules, 1954.
A certificate listing dependents eligible for the scheme is essential and must be formatted by the head of the office where the employee is currently working.
For pensioners, this certificate should be obtained from the District Treasury Officer, Sub-Treasury Officer, Pension Payment Officer, or Pay and Accounts Officer from the district where the pension is drawn, or from the last-serving office.
To finalize the e-KYC process, Aadhaar numbers of all family members must be provided. This will facilitate verification and link beneficiaries to their PMJAY cards for seamless access to cashless health services. The scheme also includes special provisions for fixed-pay employees.
If an employee's service is terminated without confirmation, or if someone resigns, leaves voluntarily, or is dismissed due to disciplinary reasons, the head of the last-serving office must promptly notify the SHA.
Based on this notification, the SHA will remove the names of these individuals and their family members from the beneficiary database under PMJAY.
