While addressing a workshop for the Chief Minister's Fellowship cohort in Gandhinagar, CM Patel highlighted the potential for collaboration between the extensive experience of senior bureaucrats and the innovative ideas from the Chief Minister Fellowship program to greatly improve public welfare and streamline business operations throughout the state.
He pointed out that the combination of the knowledge and skills of young professionals with the institutional experience of senior officials is vital for accelerating this mission.
CM Patel noted that the Chief Minister's Fellowship Program, initiated in 2009 by former Chief Minister Narendra Modi, serves as a platform to leverage the creative ideas of talented youth towards effective governance.
He remarked that this program remains a benchmark for administrative innovation, making governance more technology-driven, efficient, and focused on citizens’ needs.
Reflecting Prime Minister Modi's philosophy, CM Patel stated, "Our work extends beyond maintaining a government; it is about instigating change across the nation," adding that PM Modi's leadership has ushered in extensive reforms, from enhancing digital governance to ensuring that technology reaches even the most remote areas.
Emphasizing PM Modi's vision for Gujarat to measure itself against global best practices, the Chief Minister remarked, "Today, the Fellowship program stands as one of the most impactful platforms for young professionals to engage in state administration."
During the workshop's opening session, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked between the Gujarat government's Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA) and IIM Indore for collaborative capacity-building initiatives in public policy and management.
SPIPA Director General Harit Shukla and IIM Indore Director Himanshu Rai formally exchanged the MoU.
Chief Secretary M.K. Das commended the contributions of the CM Fellowship program, stating that their research and case studies have fortified good governance efforts, and noted that the program has gained further momentum under CM Patel's leadership.
