New Delhi, May 31 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment is an exemplary trait for all politicians to emulate, remarked Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday.
During a candid discussion with actor Anupam Kher to commemorate 100 days of her administration, the Chief Minister stated, “PM Modi’s unwavering commitment to a vision, his homeland, and the public serves as a gold standard for politicians everywhere.”
“Dedication is the foundation for any politician. Without this sentiment in their heart, success eludes them,” she recited a Hindi couplet, emphasizing the importance of empathy and patriotism for genuine service.
Every statement made by PM Modi regarding the nation serves as an inspiration, she noted, adding, “At times, his advocacy for ‘vocal for local’ and his initiatives to uplift Indian products act as a source of motivation for us.”
When asked what she misses most after assuming the role of Chief Minister in Delhi, Gupta expressed, “I have lost the freedom to express myself without restraint.”
“The ability to engage in light-heartedness and banter is no longer available to me due to my responsibilities. Previously, I could comment freely without concern for consequences,” she shared.
Earlier, in a podcast-style interview with Kher, CM Gupta confirmed that the electoral promise of a monthly financial aid of ₹2,500 for women in the capital would be rolled out soon.
She criticized the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab for either failing to initiate such a scheme despite their promises or implementing it without sufficient funding.
CM Gupta stated, “We have convened six meetings to develop the policy, and I have earmarked ₹5,100 crore in the Budget for the Mahila Samridhi Yojana.”
She emphasized her government’s intent to avoid the pitfalls of the Himachal Pradesh government, which announced a financial program enthusiastically but ran out of money.
CM Gupta also criticized the previous Arvind Kejriwal administration in Delhi for promising ₹1,000 to women just before the Lok Sabha elections but failing to deliver.
“The AAP government in Punjab has also not initiated the promised financial assistance scheme,” she concluded.
