Gurugram, April 12 (NationPress) Cyclothon 2.0, spearheaded by Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, championing a drug-free Haryana, traversed the prominent streets of Gurugram on Saturday.

The event was inaugurated by Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, who flagged off the Cyclothon from Ghamroj Toll Plaza on NH-248A.

The minister, alongside officials, participated in cycling to motivate the youth to join the fight for a drug-free Haryana.

District Commissioner Ajay Kumar and Additional District Commissioner Hitesh Kumar Meena also joined the Cyclothon, cycling from Ghamroj Toll Plaza to Elan Mall on Dwarka Expressway, encouraging local residents to rally behind this important initiative.

“This campaign is igniting a movement against drugs in the state. Gurugram plays a pivotal role in this crusade. Recognized globally, its message resonates far and wide. For India to become a global leader, the youth must step up against drug abuse,” asserted Minister Rao Narbir Singh.

Participants in Cyclothon 2.0 included members from various cycling groups in Gurugram, students from schools and colleges, and individuals from diverse age brackets.

Notably, many senior citizens also took part in this significant event.

A plethora of local residents from the villages of Ghamroj, Bhondsi, Badshahpur, Vatika Chowk, SPR Road, Dwarka Expressway, Basai, Dhankot, Chandu, and Budhera cheered on the Cyclothon 2.0 participants.

The community also expressed their solidarity with the Haryana government's ongoing anti-drug initiative. Present at the event were DCP Arpit Jain, SDM Sanjeev Singla from Sohna, SDM Dinesh Kumar from Pataudi, SDM Darshan Yadav from Manesar, ACP Satyapal Yadav, ACP Jitender Kumar, Additional CEO of CSR Trust Haryana Gaurav Singh, Deputy Director (Sports) Giriraj Singh, DIPR Bijendra Kumar, Naib Tehsildar Ashish Malik, District President of BJP Sarvpriya Tyagi, and Sarpanch of Ghamroj village Sadhna Rani.
