Gurugram, April 18 (NationPress) In a significant breakthrough, the Gurugram police have apprehended two ganja suppliers, effectively resolving over 196 cases of ganja recovery. This contraband was discovered within an abandoned Hyundai Verna on March 5, 2025, according to police reports.
The estimated worth of this illegal substance is pegged at Rs 50 lakh, police officials stated.
The arrested individuals are identified as Mohammad Arif, known as Bittu, and Abdul Samad, both hailing from Delhi.
The police received confidential information on March 5, leading them to a Hyundai Verna left unattended in Baluda village, located in the Sohna block of Gurugram.
Upon inspection, the police uncovered over 196 kg of ganja packed in smaller bags within the vehicle.
A case has been filed under the pertinent sections of the NDPS Act at the City Sohna Police Station in Gurugram regarding this drug recovery.
During the investigation, the police successfully captured the suspects in Daryaganj, Delhi, on Wednesday.
Upon interrogation, it was revealed that the accused procured the ganja from Visakhapatnam with intentions to distribute it in the NCR region.
The police spokesperson, Sandeep Kumar, indicated that the recovered ganja is valued at Rs 50 lakh.
Typically, smugglers sell ganja to users in small packets, he added.
The Gurugram police have dealt a significant blow to the smugglers by intercepting this substantial shipment of illegal ganja.
Before it could be delivered to various locations, the police seized this illegal substance, taking decisive action against ganja traffickers, he stated.
The suspects are currently being interrogated thoroughly to gather information about their accomplices.

Furthermore, on Thursday, the Gurugram police apprehended an individual with illegal firearms in the Sector-65 area of Gurugram.
The suspect, known as Bopal and a resident of Tigra village in Gurugram, had two illegal country-made pistols and 31 live cartridges in his possession.
He disclosed to the police that he obtained the firearms due to a family dispute.
A case under the Arms Act has been registered against him at the Sector-65 police station in Gurugram.
