This visit will further solidify the long-standing and multifaceted ties between India and Guyana, which are deeply rooted in strong people-to-people connections,” Jaiswal noted.
The India AI Impact Summit 2026, taking place from February 16-20, convenes heads of state, ministers, global tech leaders, distinguished researchers, multilateral organizations, and industry representatives to discuss the role of AI in promoting inclusive growth, enhancing public systems, and fostering sustainable development. This marks the first global gathering of this magnitude on the subject in the Global South.
Recently, Guyana's President Irfaan Ali expressed heartfelt wishes to PM Narendra Modi and the Indian populace on the occasion of Republic Day. He acknowledged India's role as the world's largest democracy in advocating for the interests of developing nations on a global platform.
“On the 77th Republic Day of India, we extend our warmest congratulations to the Government and citizens of India as they celebrate the adoption of their Constitution and the cherished ideals it upholds,” Irfaan Ali shared on X.
He further remarked that India’s struggle for freedom and peaceful transition from colonialism has inspired many developing nations to pursue their sovereignty and shape their destinies. “As the world’s largest democracy, India continues to support the aspirations of developing nations globally,” he added.
He emphasized Guyana's appreciation for its relationship with India, noting that the bond has evolved into a strong partnership founded on mutual respect and collaboration across various sectors.
“Guyana values its deep-rooted and historic ties with India, which have been built on shared history, kinship, and a commitment to democracy and development. These relations have matured into a robust partnership anchored in mutual respect and cooperation across diverse sectors,” he posted on X.
“As India celebrates this significant milestone, Guyana is optimistic about the ongoing strengthening of our bilateral ties, working in unison to foster prosperity, sustainability, and the collective voice of the Global South,” he concluded.
