Jaipur, March 1 (NationPress) The return of winter in the final week of February has extended its effects into the first day of March. On Saturday morning, a hailstorm affected various areas of Khetri and Tijara districts in Jhunjhunu, covering fields with a layer of white.

Cold winds and fog were also reported in parts of Dausa, Karauli, Alwar, and Bharatpur.

The previous day, rain and hailstorms in Shekhawati resulted in a temperature drop of 2-3 degrees Celsius.

Hail and rain have led to considerable crop damage in regions such as Sriganganagar, Churu, Kotputli-Behror, Bikaner, and Alwar.

The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur has forecast further rainfall across various districts in Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions on Saturday.

In the last 24 hours, numerous cities in Rajasthan experienced rain and cloudiness.

Stormy rain and hailstorms have struck Bikaner, Churu, Ganganagar, and Hanumangarh, resulting in damage to Rabi crops. The rainfall and strong winds also contributed to a decrease in daytime temperatures.

According to the Meteorological Department’s report, Hanumangarh recorded 2.5 mm of rain, Ganganagar saw 0.3 mm, and Bikaner experienced 3.2 mm, while several regions in Churu and Jaisalmer also noted rainfall.

Cloudy skies persisted throughout the day in multiple districts, including Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Nagaur, and Sikar.

The Meteorological Centre, Jaipur, predicts cloudy conditions in eastern Rajasthan with isolated light rain today.

The effects of the Western Disturbance will be noticeable in Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions. However, starting March 2, the weather is anticipated to clear, bringing bright sunshine and clear skies for the next 4-5 days.

Despite the lingering chill of winter, Rajasthan is expected to face intense heat beginning in March.

The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave warning for the upcoming months, predicting temperatures to be above average from March through May.

According to the three-month forecast from the Meteorological Centre in New Delhi, both minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to be higher than normal across 16 states, including Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. April and May are projected to see an increase in temperature as well as the number of heatwave days.

The Meteorological Center has anticipated significantly lower-than-average rainfall in Rajasthan for March due to Western Disturbances.

A similar prediction has been issued for Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, the northern hilly states, and northeastern states including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram.
