Hansi, December 16 (NationPress) - The Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, declared on Tuesday that Hansi will be recognized as the 23rd district of the state, representing a major administrative advancement for the area.
The formal notification is expected to be issued within a week, enabling Hansi to officially gain district status in terms of revenue administration.
While speaking at a ‘Vikas rally’, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid the groundwork for three development projects valued at Rs 77.30 crore.
Reflecting on Hansi’s rich historical and cultural significance, CM Saini referred to it as a land of bravery and sacrifice, historically known as the gateway to Hindustan. He honored the sacrifices made during the First War of Independence in 1857 and noted that the historic Lal Sadak still stands as a reminder of the harsh brutality faced by freedom fighters.
He emphasized that Hansi’s importance predates the freedom struggle, mentioning that it was previously known as Asi and Asigarh, and during the reign of Emperor Harsha, it was the capital of the Satluj province.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government's dedication to the development of Hansi, promising that every effort will be made to ensure its progress.
He highlighted that projects worth Rs 1,008 crore have been implemented in the Hansi Assembly constituency over the last 11 years, in stark contrast to the Rs 253 crore of projects during the Congress administration.
Out of the 217 promises made in the Sankalp Patra election manifesto, the double-engine government has successfully fulfilled 54 promises within a year, with work on 163 promises currently in progress.
Although one year may seem short, it has seen development at three times the previous pace, showcasing the government's unwavering commitment to continuous growth.
Additionally, during its third term, the government has taken significant steps to ensure inclusive development and protect the interests of all societal segments.
